Original Sweat Defender

Applies to: Crew, V-Neck, Henley, Polo, and Undershirt — original line.

Materials

  • Premium combed cotton with a small percentage of spandex for stretch
  • Patented internal sweat-maze pattern (U.S. Patent 10,640,915)
  • Durable water-repellent (DWR) fabric finish applied to the outer cotton surface

Treatment Disclosure

The original Sweat Defender contains PFAS chemicals for their water-repelling properties.

PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a category of fabric treatment widely used across outdoor, athletic, and performance apparel to repel water at the surface of a fabric. The DWR finish on the original Sweat Defender uses this category of chemistry to extend the life of the shirt and to give the patented internal sweat-maze pattern the time it needs to disperse moisture for evaporation.

Manufactured in Vietnam at an audited facility. Materials sourced from audited mills.

Shipping

PFAS-class fabric treatments are regulated in California, New York, Vermont, and Minnesota. To comply with those state requirements, we do not ship the original Sweat Defender to those four states. Customers in those states can shop Sweat Defender 2.0.

Care

Machine wash cold and hang dry. Avoid bleach.

Treatment Disclosure

Sweat Defender 2.0 was developed using an updated fabric treatment formula that does not use PFAS chemicals.

The 2.0 line was engineered to deliver comparable sweat-hiding performance to the original Sweat Defender using a different category of water-repellent treatment, so it can be sold and shipped in all U.S. states regardless of state-level PFAS regulations.
